About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy department. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide patient care and maintain department standards. This is a paid, on-site role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense the correct medication and bag filled prescriptions for delivery.
- Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and communicate with insurance companies.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills or refills.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and manage incoming medication stock.
- Support customers, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to handle prescription processing, insurance verification, and inventory tasks.
- Commitment to maintaining customer privacy and business integrity.
