About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the daily operations of the pharmacy department by providing direct patient care and ensuring accurate medication management. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining safety and quality assurance standards within a retail pharmacy setting.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense the correct medication and facilitate the accurate delivery of prescriptions to customers.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
• Coordinate with prescribers' offices for authorizations and communicate with insurance companies to process claims.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by stocking incoming orders and managing unused medication.
• Ensure a clean and safe department environment and report all safety risks or incidents to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information.
• Strong ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Capability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
