About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy department in delivering high-quality customer service while maintaining a safe and efficient environment. This role involves assisting with daily pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate prescription processing, and providing clinical support under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system and dispense correct medications.
• Facilitate communication with prescribers for authorizations and work with insurance companies to process claims.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory by checking, stocking, and organizing medication orders.
• Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while maintaining quality assurance standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers.
• Handle administrative tasks such as processing payments and bagging prescriptions.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers, prescribers, and pharmacy staff.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a professional environment and manage conflict in a constructive manner.
