About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide essential clinical services and support pharmacy operations. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the accurate and safe dispensing of medications in a retail environment.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions regarding products throughout the store.
• Gain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
• Dispense medications accurately and provide drug counseling to customers.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations and process third-party insurance information.
• Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system and manage prescription refills.
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, stock incoming orders, and manage inventory.
• Communicate with prescribers' offices for authorizations and resolve insurance issues.
• Uphold safety standards by reporting risks, accidents, or illegal activity to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Strong commitment to honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Capacity to manage conflict in a professional and cooperative manner.
