About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy department in delivering exceptional service and maintaining operational standards. This role involves direct interaction with customers, collaboration with healthcare providers, and assisting the pharmacy team in ensuring accurate and safe medication management.
What you'll do#
- Create an outstanding customer experience by answering questions and providing assistance with pharmaceutical and over-the-counter products.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Provide drug counseling and facilitate immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Manage prescription workflows, including accepting and interpreting prescriptions, contacting prescribers for authorizations, and processing insurance information.
- Support inventory management by stocking orders and returning unused medication to stock.
- Maintain safety and compliance by reporting incidents, risks, or illegal activity to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a professional environment and manage conflict effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
