About the role#
Kroger is hiring a Pharmacy Intern to join our team in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This role focuses on providing high-quality customer service while assisting with daily pharmacy operations. You will support the pharmacy staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment for our customers.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and answer medication questions for customers.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense correct medications and bag prescriptions for delivery.
- Contact prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization issues.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills or refills.
- Maintain inventory by stocking incoming orders and returning unused stock.
- Assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skill in managing conflict in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
