About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work directly with our pharmacy team to support patient care and store operations. This role focuses on providing accurate service to customers while maintaining a safe and clean environment. You will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and answer questions about products for customers.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense medications and bag them for customer pickup.
- Contact prescribers' offices and insurance companies to resolve authorization issues.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by stocking orders and returning unused stock.
- Assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Process third-party insurance information and facilitate customer purchases.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skills to manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and professional manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding sensitive customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and ask for help when resolving complex issues.
