PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide patient care, manage pharmacy operations, and ensure accuracy in prescription processing while maintaining a welcoming environment for customers.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Process third-party insurance information and contact insurance companies or prescribers as needed.
• Dispense medication, bag prescriptions, and deliver them to customers.
• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by stocking incoming orders and returning unused stock.
• Ensure a safe, clean environment and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
• Assist customers of all backgrounds, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to remain nonconfrontational and cooperative.
• High standards of honesty and integrity regarding business and customer information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
