PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide essential patient care, assist with pharmacy operations, and contribute to the overall success of the department by meeting sales and quality assurance goals.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for accurate filling and refilling.
• Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system and process third-party insurance claims.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Contact prescribers' offices for authorization and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking medications, and returning unused stock.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers.
• Assist the department manager in monitoring quality assurance standards and achieving performance goals.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity regarding patient and business information.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support diverse customer needs, including interactions with minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
• Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
