About the role#
This is a part-time, on-site Pharmacy Intern position. You will support the pharmacy team by providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting with daily operations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Welcome customers and answer questions about pharmacy products.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense correct medications and bag prescriptions for delivery to customers.
- Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills or refills.
- Provide drug counseling and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Process third-party insurance information and contact insurance companies or prescribers as needed.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication bottles.
- Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks, theft, or fraud to management.
- Assist with customer interactions, including those involving minors, older adults, or individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
- Capacity to manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
