About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will support pharmacy operations while gaining hands-on experience in a retail setting. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service, maintaining pharmacy standards, and assisting pharmacists with clinical and administrative tasks.

What you'll do#

• Promote trust and respect among associates and create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Provide drug counseling and recommend over-the-counter medications.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information, interpret prescriptions, and dispense correct medications.
• Process third-party insurance information and contact prescribers or insurance companies as needed.
• Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory by comparing, checking, and stocking incoming orders and returning unused stock.
• Maintain a clean department and report safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
• Assist diverse populations, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflict professionally.
• Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
