PHARMACY INTERN- NORTHERN KENTUCKY

About the role#

The Pharmacy Intern role supports the pharmacy department by ensuring accurate medication dispensing and providing exceptional customer service. Interns work under the supervision of pharmacists to assist with patient care, insurance processing, and administrative pharmacy operations.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Dispense medication accurately and input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Contact prescribers’ offices for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
• Bag filled prescriptions and deliver them to customers accurately.
• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain department cleanliness, stock incoming orders, and manage inventory.
• Assist customers with questions regarding products throughout the store to ensure a welcoming environment.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to handle sensitive customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
• Capability to work cooperatively in a busy environment while managing conflict professionally.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
