About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work on-site in a retail environment. This part-time role focuses on providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and clean pharmacy department. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales goals and upholding quality assurance standards.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and recommend over-the-counter medications to customers.
- Accurately input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system.
- Interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Dispense medications and bag them for customer delivery.
- Communicate with prescribers to obtain authorizations.
- Process insurance information and contact insurance providers as needed.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
- Maintain a clean workspace and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
- Assist diverse populations, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skill in managing conflict in a nonconfrontational manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding business and customer information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek help when necessary.
- Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
