Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide essential clinical services and support pharmacy operations. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate prescription processing, and maintaining pharmacy safety standards.

What you'll do#

• Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense the correct medication and manage prescription filling, including contacting prescribers for authorization.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Process third-party insurance information and assist customers with billing inquiries.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking products, and returning unused stock.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers.
• Report safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management and the pharmacist on duty.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers, prescribers, and pharmacy staff.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Capability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
