PHARMACY INTERN-DAYTON

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the pharmacy department in delivering high-quality patient care and operational excellence. This role focuses on maintaining safety standards, assisting customers with their medication needs, and supporting the pharmacist on duty to ensure accurate prescription processing.

What you'll do#

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintain a clean, organized department.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Accurately input patient information, dispense medications, and process third-party insurance claims.
• Accept and interpret prescriptions, contact prescriber offices for authorizations, and facilitate charge purchases.
• Bag filled prescriptions and deliver them to customers accurately.
• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication bottles to stock.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals while monitoring quality assurance standards.
• Notify the pharmacist on duty regarding any prescription incidents and report safety risks, accidents, or illegal activity to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Capacity to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Commitment to acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
