About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will help our pharmacy team provide essential care to our customers. This position focuses on delivering service, ensuring accuracy in medication handling, and supporting the daily operations of the pharmacy department. You will work directly under the supervision of a pharmacist to gain experience in clinical and retail pharmacy tasks.
What you'll do#
- Create a welcoming experience for customers by answering product questions and providing drug counseling.
- Accurately input patient data and dispense medications.
- Process insurance claims and coordinate with prescribers to obtain necessary authorizations.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
- Maintain a clean and safe department, reporting any safety risks or incidents immediately.
- Support customers with diverse needs, including older adults and individuals with special needs.
- Handle conflict and stressful situations with a cooperative and professional approach.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- The ability to maintain honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
- A commitment to following safety protocols and pharmacy regulations.
