As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while maintaining high quality assurance standards. You will contribute to a safe, clean environment and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive customer experience.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
- Accurately dispense medications and input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage prescription processing, including contacting prescribers for authorization and coordinating with insurance companies.
- Handle pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication.
- Assist customers with prescription pickups and facilitate charge purchases.
- Maintain department cleanliness and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-volume environment and manage conflict professionally.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers, prescribers, and pharmacy staff.
