About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work on-site to provide essential support within our pharmacy department. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while ensuring a safe, clean environment for all customers. This role focuses on delivering exceptional service and maintaining high quality assurance standards.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and assist customers with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient data and interpret prescriptions for fill or refill.
- Dispense medication and facilitate the checkout process for customers.
- Coordinate with prescribers for authorizations and manage third-party insurance claims.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication to stock.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and report any safety risks or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Capacity to follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
- Experience or comfort providing support to diverse groups, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
