PHARMACY INTERN

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work on-site in a retail pharmacy setting. This position is a paid, full-time role with a rolling term. You will support the pharmacy team by ensuring accurate medication dispensing, processing insurance claims, and providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions and providing exceptional service.
• Dispense medications accurately and process third-party insurance information.
• Provide drug counseling and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage prescription data entry and contact prescribers' offices for necessary authorizations.
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, stock incoming orders, and handle inventory returns.
• Notify management of any customer or employee accidents or safety concerns.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to gain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products.
• Proficiency in accurately inputting patient and prescription information into computer systems.
• Strong communication skills to provide drug counseling and interact with customers, prescribers, and insurance companies.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding sensitive patient and business information.
