Pharmacist Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacist Intern at Kroger, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service, maintaining safety standards, and supporting the pharmacy team in daily operations. You will work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to ensure accurate medication dispensing and patient care.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming and helpful environment for customers by answering questions about products.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense medications and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and facilitate charge purchases.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Contact prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization or coverage issues.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
• Maintain a clean and safe department, reporting any accidents or safety risks to management.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and the ability to discuss them with customers and prescribers.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-volume environment and manage conflict professionally.
• Strong commitment to honesty, integrity, and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
