About the role#
KPMG US is seeking an Intern to join the Trade and Customs practice for the Summer 2027 term. This role involves working with a network of specialists to help clients navigate complex import and export regulations. You will participate in client engagements, receive formal training, and benefit from informal mentoring throughout the internship.
What you'll do#
- Advise clients on import and export matters across various industries.
- Examine U.S. and international trade issues.
- Research, write, and review international trade advice.
- Formulate ideas and identify opportunities for trade savings.
- Assist in delivering client engagements on time and within budget.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations.
- Support the implementation of global trade automated solutions.
- Build skills in technologies including artificial intelligence, Alteryx, and Power BI.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Affairs, International Trade, Data, or a related field.
- Must have additional academic credits to complete after the internship concludes.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Coursework in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred.
- Relevant coursework in Accounting, Trade Policy, Global Finance, U.S. Export Controls, and Economic Development is preferred.
- Strong technical, business, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to learn and navigate technologies like MS Office, AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
- Professional demeanor with a collaborative approach.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Modality: This is an on-site position.
- Travel: Ability to travel and work on-site at client premises is required.
- Eligibility: You must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office.
