About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in how large-scale engineering and technology projects are planned, executed, and delivered. You will work alongside project managers and engineering leaders to support initiatives that drive business objectives and product development. This is a learning-focused role designed to provide practical insights into project management within a global manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain project work plans, schedules, and reports.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to capture key updates, risks, and decisions.
- Observe how project managers identify, track, and escalate project risks and resource challenges.
- Gain exposure to Komatsu project management methodologies, templates, and tracking systems.
- Support initiatives that improve program management tools, reporting, and knowledge sharing.
- Build skills in communication, teamwork, time management, and business process awareness.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Business, Project Management, or Engineering program at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Interest in project management, engineering, or manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with project management and product development lifecycles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines, and adapt to new challenges.
- Prior experience in work-study programs, volunteer leadership roles, clubs, or professional organizations is preferred.
