About the role#
We are hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician Intern to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This internship provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing facility that produces corrugated boxes and specialty packaging. You will work alongside experienced technicians to build technical skills and gain exposure to industrial maintenance operations.
What you'll do#
- Work with experienced Maintenance Technicians to receive coaching and mentorship.
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install plant equipment.
- Gain practical experience with motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, conveyor systems, and production line machinery.
- Learn preventative maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability.
- Read diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and testing instruments.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to support production and quality goals.
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a two-year Industrial Maintenance degree or a four-year Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn in a hands-on environment.
- Experience reading technical drawings and schematics is preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting or repairing electrical components, such as motors, motor controllers, and drives, is a plus.
- Background in industrial maintenance, manufacturing environments, or automation systems is helpful.
