About the role#
Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students for a Structural Intern position in the Indianapolis, Indiana office. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship role with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Utilize technical software to analyze, produce, and perform quality control on project deliverables.
- Contribute to pre-construction efforts for structural projects, including bridges and retaining walls.
- Prepare bridge and structural plans, specifications, and estimates for clients.
- Solve complex problems and collaborate across disciplines to assist project managers.
- Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as firm and client standards.
- Gain experience with software programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, and Excel.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Academic focus in Civil, Environmental, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
