About the role#
Kimley-Horn is hiring engineering students for a summer 2027 internship in our San Marcos, Texas office. This is a full-time, on-site position. Interns gain hands-on experience with civil engineering projects while learning industry-standard software like AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, and GIS.
What you'll do#
- Use technical software to analyze, produce, and quality-check project deliverables.
- Assist with pre-construction design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for various projects.
- Solve technical problems and support project managers.
- Work with different disciplines to help execute client projects.
- Learn federal, state, and local regulations along with internal office procedures and standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters degree program.
- Progress toward an ABET-accredited engineering degree.
- Major in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
