About the role#
KIHOMAC is hiring a Copy Editor Intern to join the Business Development Group. You will support our proposal team by ensuring documentation is accurate, consistent, and professional. This is a paid, on-site internship based in Byron, Georgia. You will work 15 to 25 hours per week, with the potential for 40 hours during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Proofread and edit proposals, presentations, and marketing materials for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ensure documents follow established style guidelines and formatting standards.
- Check for consistency across headings, acronyms, cross-references, and captions.
- Assist with document version control and incorporate feedback from multiple contributors.
- Learn to distinguish between copy editing and substantive editing.
- Participate in proposal reviews and final quality-control checks before submission.
- Collaborate with writers and technical subject matter experts while protecting sensitive information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-high school program for English, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or Marketing.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and organized communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and document formatting.
- The ability to review written material for clarity and consistency.
- US citizenship is required, and you may need to obtain a security clearance.
Location & details#
- Location: Byron, Georgia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $17 to $18 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand at a desk for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
