    About the role#

    This internship focuses on supporting project-level accounting and finance functions. At Kiewit, each project operates like a small business, and you will work alongside the Business Manager to handle cost control, payroll, accounts payable, and human capital management. You will gain experience with cost and revenue components related to labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts. You will also participate in the month-end close process and assist with financial reporting packages for project management.

    What you'll do#

    • Master systems for payroll and HR processes, including hiring, transfers, and terminations.
    • Manage purchasing workflows and internal controls for invoices and goods.
    • Troubleshoot payment or vendor issues within the accounts payable process.
    • Handle intercompany and client billing documentation to ensure accurate and timely cash management.
    • Review costs and budget structures to ensure accurate reporting and proper revenue recognition.
    • Build relationships with the Operations team to support project needs.
    • Implement EEO and labor laws at the project level in coordination with the compliance department.
    • Maintain an organized work environment and provide clear, effective communication.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business Administration with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
    • 0 to 2 years of financial or data analysis experience.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with preference for experience in Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    • Ability to access all areas of a construction site in various climates and environments.

    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Employment: Full-time.
    • Location: Based in Lone Tree, Colorado, but you must be able to relocate anywhere in the country for the duration of the internship.
