About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction management. You will work on heavy civil projects, including transportation, earth moving, and water infrastructure. The role focuses on practical skills needed for a career in the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Perform field engineering, operation planning, and project scheduling.
- Manage cost control, quantity tracking, and material procurement.
- Handle contract administration and supervise field activities.
- Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements and pricing.
- Investigate technical problems or incidents and recommend solutions.
- Maintain accurate records regarding job progress, costs, and material usage.
- Coordinate with suppliers to expedite material deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer, typically from May to August.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Capacity to access all areas of a construction site in various climates and environments.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Costa Mesa, California.
- You must be able to travel or relocate as business needs require.
- You should be available to work during normal operating hours, with the possibility of overtime and weekends.
