About the role#
We are looking for an intern to join our Quantum Engineering Solution team in Cambridge. You will develop and evaluate techniques for characterizing the electrical properties of quantum devices. You will have access to high-performance instrumentation to build measurement strategies and create Python workflows to automate these processes. Your work will help us refine how we deliver quantum test and measurement solutions.
What you'll do#
- Develop measurement techniques for quantum devices using a parametric analyzer.
- Write Python scripts to automate measurements and ensure repeatability.
- Work with QES physicists to identify measurement challenges and build practical solutions.
- Present your findings and alternative approaches to the team.
- Incorporate feedback to improve measurement techniques and automation workflows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Experience programming in Python for data collection, analysis, and automation.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with quantum computing or other quantum technologies is a plus.
- Experience programming test instrumentation using PyVisa or similar APIs is helpful.
- A portfolio or examples of relevant academic projects is preferred.
