About the role#
This is a 12-week summer internship program based at the Kerry Center in Beloit, Wisconsin. You will work on real projects alongside scientists and cross-functional teams. The role focuses on research, development, and application within the food and beverage industry.
What you'll do#
- Support scientists with research activities and project deliverables.
- Conduct hands-on lab work to develop, test, and evaluate product concepts.
- Apply scientific principles to improve products in markets like beverages, meals, snacks, bakery, meat, dairy, and plant-based foods.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to create new product concepts.
- Help with the conceptualization, specification, and processing of new products.
- Translate customer needs into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with the RD&A Manager and other teams to meet project goals.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related technical science.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Knowledge of food chemistry, sensory, microbiology, food packaging, systems, and food engineering.
- Understanding of food processing and statistical process knowledge.
- Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to relocate.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship provided).
