Campus AI Research Engineer (Intern

About the role#

Jump Trading is seeking Campus AI Research Engineers to collaborate with research, trading, and engineering teams. This role focuses on building state-of-the-art machine learning systems to solve complex problems in quantitative finance. You will work on impactful projects ranging from optimizing high-performance computing training pipelines to developing low-latency inference systems.

What you'll do#

• Apply state-of-the-art techniques to complex and challenging domains.
• Collaborate with researchers and quants to build flexible, reusable frameworks for financial AI/ML.
• Integrate AI/ML models into production systems where latency is a critical factor.
• Work across a mix of programming languages including C, C++, Python, and CUDA.
• Build large-scale AI/ML systems that are observable, performant, and flexible.
• Optimize training pipelines to maximize the utility of high-performance computing resources.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Expertise in GPU or accelerator programming, including CUDA, Triton, SYCL, or ROCm.
• Experience building AI/ML systems at scale.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
