About the role#
This Technology IM R&D Co-Op position offers a professional experience within the technology division. You will work on a range of assignments involving backend development, containerized applications, and AI-assisted workflows. This is a full-time role for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Implement and maintain backend routes and simple controllers using JavaScript and Node.js.
- Pair with a mentor to add features and fix bugs for WebSocket and REST endpoints.
- Run and test containerized applications locally while following basic CI instructions.
- Write and execute unit tests for your code.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies, report blockers, and collaborate with your team.
- Create or update technical documentation and design notes.
- Learn to use AI tools to accelerate development output.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or Cybersecurity.
- Undergraduate sophomore status or above by the start date.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and basic familiarity with Node.js.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming, error handling, and debugging.
- Introductory experience or coursework in TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Git and source control workflows.
- Experience or coursework involving unit testing.
- Ability to run and inspect Docker containers locally.
- Willingness to learn container and CI concepts.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development and core AI concepts.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
