About the role#
The Applied Science and AI team at Abiomed is looking for a Software Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Danvers, Massachusetts. You will work on software components for an upcoming class III medical device. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience while contributing to a new product release.
What you'll do#
- Support our engineering team by working with peers and managers.
- Connect and integrate new data sources into existing architecture.
- Design, develop, and test software solutions using Agile methodologies.
- Perform algorithm and data analysis and assist with system troubleshooting.
- Support documentation efforts according to established procedures.
- Assist with informal and formal software verification, validation, and integration testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Coding experience in Javascript, C, Lua, or Rust.
- Familiarity with Linux and at least one web UI framework like Angular.
- Basic understanding of statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivation and the ability to execute tasks with attention to detail.
- Experience with Git version control from coursework or projects.
- A portfolio of personal projects or contributions to open source projects.
- You must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Danvers, Massachusetts.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position.
- Compensation: Pay ranges from $23.50 to $52.50 per hour based on your program year, discipline, and experience.
- Benefits: Co-Ops are eligible for company-sponsored medical benefits, sick time, and the company pension plan.
