About the role#
As a Finance Co-op Student, you will support key financial operations including analysis, reporting, budgeting, and costing. You will work alongside finance professionals to gain hands-on experience and contribute to projects that support business decisions. This role is based in Mississauga and is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Enter financial data, record transactions, and maintain financial records.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and presentations.
- Perform variance, trend, and ratio analysis to assess performance.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including model updates.
- Maintain and validate standard costing information.
- Conduct inventory-related activities, such as physical counts and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial insights.
- Contribute to the improvement of financial processes.
- Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of financial information.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle large sets of numerical data.
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
- Knowledge of PowerBI is considered an asset.
- Interest in cost accounting and manufacturing finance.
- Ability to interact effectively with management, plant personnel, and auditors.
- Self-motivated, organized, and willing to take initiative.
