This is a full-time, paid Engineering Intern position based in Ancaster, Ontario. The role spans 8 to 12 months and involves reporting to the Product and Process Engineering Supervisor. Interns will work primarily in an office environment with equal time spent in manufacturing facilities on the day shift.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the development and implementation of processes, part development, and equipment selection.
- Conduct analysis on experimental datasets to extract meaning and provide recommendations.
- Communicate regularly with Production, Quality, and other departments regarding technological progress.
- Assist in recommending modifications to tooling and plant equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency or meet performance specifications.
- Develop and document the manufacture of prototype and production components.
- Act as a technical resource to support daily operations, processes, and equipment.
- Support and participate in team meetings to resolve issues related to Quality, Operations, Facilities, and Health & Safety.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a third or fourth-year student in Mechanical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of people and communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.
- High level of integrity, dependability, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Results-oriented mindset with high initiative and motivation.
