About the role#
The Jefferson County Educational Service Center Virtual Learning Academy is seeking an intern to support the maintenance and custodial operations of our facilities in Steubenville. This role focuses on the preservation of our buildings and grounds to ensure a clean and effective work environment for staff and visitors. This is a paid part-time position for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine maintenance, care, and preservation of buildings and grounds.
- Execute general repairs, including work on plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Manage grounds keeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and general lawn maintenance.
- Handle custodial duties like cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, and trash removal.
- Assist the Director of Technology with information systems, networks, and business operations.
- Support the maintenance and safety of all facilities.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- A valid driver’s license, with a commercial driver’s license preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
- Previous experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and listen effectively.
