About the role#
We are hiring a Mechanical Engineering Student for the Winter 2027 term at our Saint John office. This position offers hands-on experience in a professional environment, allowing you to apply your academic studies to real-world projects. You will work with our team at CFM, gaining exposure to various industrial projects and professional development opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components.
- Create and update CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Support prototype development and testing, including data collection and analysis.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering university degree program or a Community College Engineering program.
- A strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
- Demonstrated safety awareness and orientation.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid position based in Saint John, New Brunswick.
- We accept applications from both co-op and non-co-op students.
- J.D. Irving, Limited will reimburse the co-op fee for students completing their work term with us up to $1,000.
