About the role#
The Quality and Food Safety Intern/Co-Op supports the food safety and quality systems at our manufacturing site. You will work under the guidance of site leadership to apply your technical knowledge to real-world challenges. This role involves hands-on experience with process validation, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance in a food production environment.
What you'll do#
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all site safety and food safety requirements.
- Assist with laboratory testing and sample analysis to verify that products meet specifications.
- Conduct or assist with work center audits and support the rollout of digital audit tools.
- Help update and organize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documents.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to improve quality awareness.
- Maintain quality records, including testing results and calibration logs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to the production floor.

- Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Temporary full-time.
- Compensation: $21-$23 per hour.
