About the role#
This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year or community college who are interested in learning the foundations of campus ministry. The role focuses on spiritual development, biblical knowledge, and gaining practical ministry experience while serving the campus community at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and direction.
- Contribute to the team's plans for spiritual growth and transformation.
- Teach students how to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
- Promote the organization's mission on campus by fostering witnessing communities that are broader, bolder, and more ethnically diverse.
- Engage with training and supervision provided by your staff ministry trainer or director.
- Assist with reporting and serve as an ambassador for the ministry to partners and churches.
What you'll need#
- You are a follower of Jesus Christ and are able to annually affirm the InterVarsity Statement of Agreement.
- You possess a developing passion for evangelism.
- You demonstrate key leadership qualities including self-awareness, cultural awareness, communication skills, professionalism, and cross-cultural competence.
- You are eager to learn and work well within a team environment.
- This position is open to students currently enrolled in college; third-year students and higher are eligible for positions at four-year institutions.
