Student Intern - Northwestern University (Asian American Ministry)

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of college campus ministry within the Asian American Ministry at Northwestern University. The role is designed to help interns grow in spiritual understanding, biblical knowledge, and ministry leadership skills while discerning a potential call to ministry service.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the campus ministry team to help cast spiritual vision and contribute to ministry planning.
• Teach students how to study, love, and apply Scripture to their daily lives.
• Encourage a prayerful lifestyle among students, with a specific focus on reaching those who do not yet follow Jesus.
• Engage with staff ministry trainers and directors to receive regular supervision and professional development.
• Assist with administrative reporting and serve as an ambassador for the ministry to partners and local churches.
• Seek opportunities to proclaim the Gospel and model cross-cultural growth within the university community.

What you'll need#

• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and be able to annually affirm the InterVarsity Statement of Agreement.
• A developing passion for evangelism and a commitment to spiritual growth.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including initiative, self-awareness, cross-cultural competence, and relational maturity.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with an eagerness to learn.
• Current enrollment in a college or university. Third-year students and higher are eligible to work at four-year institutions.

• Employment Type: Part-time.
• Compensation: This is a paid position funded through personal fundraising. Salary is dependent on the individual's ability to secure a donor team to cover the cost of the position.
