About the role#
The Development and Grants Intern will work within the Resource Development Department to establish connections between the community and the International Rescue Committee. This role focuses on securing monetary, in-kind, and volunteer resources to support client needs. This is an unpaid, part-time internship requiring a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for at least three months.
What you'll do#
- Research and identify potential grant and community donation opportunities.
- Support the Grants Management Specialist in maintaining accurate data across relevant databases.
- Compile and analyze program data to assist with grant writing and research.
- Coordinate with finance and management teams to develop grant applications and proposals.
- Develop and submit donation applications to secure resources for programs.
- Assist with resource development tasks, including community engagement, event planning, and fundraising.
- Represent the organization at community events, networking functions, and recruitment activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development programs.
What you'll need#
- An interest in international affairs and refugee or immigrant issues.
- Effective communication and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Creativity and the initiative to follow through on projects.
- A desire to help people and enthusiasm for working in a multicultural setting.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, Sociology, Communications, or Human Resources.

- This is a hybrid position based in Tallahassee, Florida.
- The term for this internship is Fall 2026.
