The Development and Grants Intern will work within the Resource Development Department to help secure monetary, in-kind, and volunteer resources for clients. This role involves working closely with the Resource Development VISTA and the Director of Development to support the organization's fundraising and community engagement goals. This is an unpaid internship requiring a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for at least three months.
What you'll do#
- Research and identify potential grant and community donation opportunities.
- Assist the Grants Management Specialist with maintaining accurate data across relevant databases.
- Compile and analyze program data to support grant writing and research.
- Collaborate with the Grants Management Specialist, finance, and management teams to develop grant applications and proposals.
- Develop and submit donation applications to secure resources for programs.
- Support Resource Development tasks, including community engagement, external communications, event planning, and fundraising.
- Represent the organization at community events, networking functions, and recruitment activities.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to staff development programs.
What you'll need#
- An interest in international affairs and refugee or immigrant issues.
- Effective communication and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Creativity and the initiative to follow through on assigned projects.
- A strong desire to help others and enthusiasm for working in a multicultural setting.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, Sociology, Communications, or Human Resources.

- This is a hybrid position based in Tallahassee, Florida.
- The internship term is Fall 2026.
