The Fall 2026 Casework Intern will support the Resettlement Services team in providing essential orientation and support to newly arrived refugees. This role involves direct client interaction and administrative support to help individuals navigate the initial stages of resettlement in the United States. This is an unpaid, in-person internship based in Atlanta, Georgia.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Case Management team to deliver core resettlement services.
- Assist with quality assurance processes, including scanning and uploading client documentation.
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential services.
- Conduct wellness checks and deliver important documents to client homes.
- Support client walk-in days and assist with initial screenings.
- Maintain accurate case notes and provide general administrative support.
What you'll need#
- Strong communication and writing skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively under pressure.
- A genuine interest in international and refugee issues.
- Enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural environment and a strong desire to help others.
- Proficiency with PC systems.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, GA
- Term: Fall 2026 (beginning the week of September 8th, 2026)
- Commitment: 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months
- Requirements: Must pass a background check and submit hours via the volunteer portal.
- Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until August 14th, 2026, or until the position is filled.
