About the role#
This internship offers a chance to apply your academic studies to real-world manufacturing operations. You will work with experienced professionals to support safety and environmental programs. The role is based on-site and involves time in both office and industrial settings.
What you'll do#
- Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the manufacturing site.
- Assist with inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and compliance activities.
- Review and analyze safety or environmental data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Help develop or update procedures, training materials, and EHS documentation.
- Contribute to projects by reviewing requirements, identifying gaps, and recommending solutions.
- Collaborate with employees and leaders across the facility.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Public Health.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to analyze information using Microsoft Excel.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to organize findings into practical documentation.
- A curious, detail-oriented mindset and comfort asking questions.
- Willingness to work in both office and industrial environments.
Location & details#
- Location: Longview, Washington.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 to 8 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with a temporary living allowance for those moving to the area.
