About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an undergraduate intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position based at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. You will gain professional experience in development work and corporate management through on-the-job learning. The internship runs from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Review operational reports in the Technical Cooperation Monitoring System (TCM) to ensure data quality.
- Assist operational teams with the use of the TCM.
- Collect and analyze data.
- Check project information for accuracy and completeness.
- Support Fund Coordinators in preparing annual and semi-annual reports for donors.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active undergraduate student in Economics, Public Policy, or Business Administration.
- You must have completed at least your second year of university.
- Your graduation date must be after the internship period ends.
- You must be a national of an IDB member country.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with data visualization software like Power BI.
- Fluency in English is required. A working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is preferred.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB or IDB Invest internship program.
- You cannot have family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
- You must not have previously held a staff, contractor, or complementary workforce role at the Bank or IDB Invest.

- This role is located in Washington, D.C., United States.
- The position requires on-site attendance.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the two-month program.
