About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an undergraduate intern for the Winter 2027 program. This is a paid, full-time position based at our headquarters. You will gain professional experience in development work and corporate management through on-the-job learning. This is a two-month contract running from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the division with project origination by preparing marketing materials and institutional presentations.
- Assist Investment Officers in preparing investment committee materials, including coordination with internal units like credit risk, legal, and social safeguards.
- Collect and analyze data on local and international debt capital markets, including pricing, structure, and issuer types.
- Automate recurring reports, portfolio tracking tools, and project-monitoring processes.
- Assist with data collection and analysis for internal debt capital market programs.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active undergraduate student in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, International Relations, or Business Administration. You should have completed your second year of studies.
- Your graduation date must be after the internship period ends.
- You need superior analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI is required. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required. A working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program and have no family members currently working at the IDB or IDB Invest.

- You must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
