About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the research agenda for the Andean Region. You will work at the headquarters in Washington D.C. as part of a paid program designed to provide professional experience in development work and corporate management.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and preparation of the department research agenda.
- Identify, compile, and organize databases.
- Conduct econometric and statistical analyses and perform computer programming tasks.
- Prepare literature reviews and draft supporting documents.
- Help organize workshops, meetings, and related activities.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active graduate student in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Political Science, International Relations, or Business Administration.
- You must be a national of an IDB member country and enrolled in a graduate program as of the start date.
- Fluency in English is required, along with a working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese.
- You need a strong understanding of econometrics, including panel data analysis, time series modeling, and machine learning.
- Proficiency with econometric software is necessary.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program and have no family members currently employed by the IDB or IDB Invest.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time role based in Washington D.C.
- The term runs from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the contract.
