About the role#
IDB Invest is looking for a graduate student to join the Regions Upstream team as an intern. This is a paid, full-time opportunity based at our headquarters. You will gain professional experience in development work and corporate management during this two-month program.
What you'll do#
- Research and analyze industry trends to help target business development efforts.
- Gather and assess financial statements for projects in the RID region, which covers Mexico, Central America, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.
- Analyze data to generate insights that support project decision-making.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Industries, Risk, and Portfolio Supervision.
- Monitor business dynamics across Latin America and the Caribbean and share relevant intelligence with your team.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a graduate program for Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or International Relations.
- Completion of at least 50% of your graduate coursework at the time of application.
- Proficiency in English. Knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
- Technical skills in data management, including cleaning, visualization, and dashboard development using Python, R, and Excel.
- Ability to perform regression analysis and interpret statistical results.
- You must not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB Group internship program and have no prior history as an IDB staff member or contractor.
