About the role#
Ingredion is seeking a Logistics & Distribution Intern to support North American logistics strategy. You will work with senior management to support projects across bulk and dry van truck, inter-modal, LTL, rail, and international modes. This role focuses on using continuous improvement methodologies to control costs and improve service levels. You will collaborate with manufacturing plants, distribution, customer service, and sales teams to apply your classroom knowledge in a corporate setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform ad-hoc analysis for operations, including pricing requests, dedicated fleet analysis, and network analysis.
- Plan, support, and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with the management team to codify and institutionalize standard methodologies within the logistics group.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to create benefits that deliver a better logistics delivery experience for internal and external customers.
- Gain an understanding of larger strategies and how they are executed operationally.
- Offer data-supported solutions to daily logistics challenges.
What you'll need#
- Progress towards a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework, with status as a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer internship term.
- Skills in continuous improvement, such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Interest in building queries and managing data using Access, Excel, and PowerBI.
- Ability to listen and understand a process before recommending improvements.
- Reliable transportation to get to and from the facility.
