About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the Agribusiness Director and the Commodity Purchasing and Agri-Product staff. You will gain exposure to risk management, supply chain analysis, and commodity hedging processes within a global food and beverage ingredient company.
What you'll do#
- Support the deployment, testing, and analysis of the GrainSmart and Triple Point systems used for risk management and corn position metrics.
- Lead a project to identify sources of yield losses and their financial impact on gross corn costs and agri-product revenue across US and Canada wet milling plants.
- Run and maintain daily reports to capture firm sales volume.
- Create allocation sheets for purchasing corn futures and maintain hedge tracker spreadsheets.
- Reconcile contract volume changes and coordinate with the contract team.
- Identify opportunities to improve or automate manual processes and act as a liaison between the Commodities department and IT.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least two years of coursework.
- Pursuing a degree in agribusiness, business administration, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- Coursework in statistics, databases, software systems, or finance.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in modern agriculture, food systems, or manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
