About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside professional engineers and scientists on projects involving modeling, simulation, and analysis. You will support government programs, commercial partnerships, and internal research efforts. The role includes participation in Infinity U, a professional development program designed to build your skills through technical briefings and career-focused sessions. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, implementation, and testing of digital models, simulation frameworks, and analysis tools.
- Develop an understanding of the modeling and simulation pyramid.
- Apply academic knowledge to projects in an operational environment.
- Participate in Infinity U interactive sessions to gain professional experience and connect with team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year or longer STEM degree program.
- Preferred: Entering junior year or later.
- Preferred majors: Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
- US Citizenship is required, as you must be able to obtain a US government security clearance.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, such as C++ or Python.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools like R, JMP, or Excel.
- Ability to combine advanced mathematics with software development.
- Ability to comprehend the performance of complex systems at a semi-technical level.
- A Secret level security clearance is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
- You will work in an office environment and must be able to remain in a stationary position at a computer for prolonged periods.
