About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship based on-site in Dayton, Ohio. You will work alongside professional engineers and scientists to support projects in modeling, simulation, and analysis. You will also participate in Infinity U, a development program designed to build your professional skills and connect you with team members across the company.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, implementation, and testing of digital models, simulation frameworks, and analysis tools.
- Learn to use or integrate with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).
- Develop an understanding of the modeling and simulation pyramid.
- Contribute to government programs, commercial partnerships, and internal research efforts.
- Attend technical briefings and professional development sessions through the Infinity U program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year STEM degree program (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics).
- Preference for students entering their junior year or later.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, such as C++ or Python.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools like R, JMP, or Excel.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematics to software development tasks.
- Capacity to comprehend the operations of complex systems at a semi-technical level.
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive to learn.
- US Citizenship is required to be eligible for a US government security clearance.
